Kirk Dando Speaks Frankly About Business Growth and Survival

Are the 12 Warning Signs of Sucess™ Holding Your Company Back?

Kirk will discuss the key obstacles to taking your business to the next level - The 12 Warning Signs of Success™ . When one or more of these key obstacles appear, it is the way in which the company’s leadership responds that makes the difference. Kirk will discuss the three stages of business development and outline the necessary changes regarding corporate culture, people, systems, sales and marketing and finances required for a company to evolve as a mature, financially stable and professionally managed and led business.

  • Understand the three predictable stages of development, The Business Lifecycle™, that all companies face regardless if they are expanding or contracting.
  • Recognize The 12 Warning Signs of Success™ that hold companies back in their growth, and learn how to overcome them–using specific, real world solutions.
  • Learn what works and what does not work when you’re trying to take your company to the next level.

As a company matures, it often experiences subtle but very troubling growing pains. Compounding the situation, management, in its haste to maintain growth and survive, often fixes its gaze outward on the environment and toward the future, hoping that more precise market projections and higher sales will provide the organization with the impetus it needs to go to the next level of performance. All the while, the company may overlook the repairs it needs to implement in order to mature and stabilize.

Companies tend to pass through a series of predictable developmental phases as they mature. Transitions between these phases do not always occur naturally or smoothly, regardless of the strength or expertise of top management.

Usually one or more problems block a successful company’s transition to a higher level of performance. If company leaders fail to address these problems (actually signs of success!), the company will fight the same battles in precisely the same way, churning on and on, year after year, until – finally – although the business does not explode, the people often do… at each other.

When these crises emerge, it is what a company does in response that determines if it moves on and becomes a mature, financially stable, professionally managed and led organization, or if it simply moves on aimlessly — or worse.

I’ve Been There

I spent years working as a C-level executive in a company we took to $1 billion in annual sales. I loved the job, but I found truth in the old adage: “It’s lonely at the top.” It would have been great to have an advisor who shared my perspective and who was willing to help me learn from his or her experience – someone who would enable me to succeed without learning everything the hard way. When we sold that business, I decided to become that kind of advisor. Now I work one-on-one with CEOs and entrepreneurs who lead some of the most profitable companies in the nation.

It’s About Results

As founder and CEO of Dando Advisors, I have had the good fortune to work with exceptional clients over the past 20 years. Thanks to them, I have built a national reputation for causing breakthrough results in companies that face problems stemming from their own success. I have helped them make the transition from an entrepreneurial environment to a mature, financially stable, professionally managed and led business.

“Dando’s advice helped us remain profitable despite a 50% sales decline in the last year. Dando’s broad and practical experience with evolving organizations adds tremendous value to our strategic planning process…”
